Houston, TX – March 17, 2011 – GRAMMY®-winning and reigning ACM and CMA Female Vocalist of the year Miranda Lambert, nominated for 7 ACM Awards including Entertainer of the Year wowed a Texas size, sellout crowd of 73,811 last night at the Houston Rodeo. It’s the largest crowd of the rodeo this year. The Texas-native, singer-songwriter whose current platinum album Revolution has been nothing less than! She’s currently enjoying her 4th consecutive Top 10 single from the album with “Heart Like Mine.”
“Wow, what a night,” exclaimed Leroy Shafer, the Show’s Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “Our rodeo/concert presentation with Miranda Lambert produced the third largest crowd in the 79 year history of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo – and the largest weeknight attendance ever. Spring break, a rodeo semi-finals, great weather and the talented and multi-award winning Miranda Lambert blended into the perfect storm that produced thousands of fans clamoring for tickets. This was a homerun for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and a homerun for Miranda Lambert.”
“It's good to be back home in Texas,” gushed Lambert, who started playing bars at 17 years old including Houston’s own Firehouse Saloon. “I think there were about seven people there at that first concert,” she joked.
