Bigger Picture Group’s Jack Christopher & Liz Cost Complete the 2011 Country Music Marathon
May 3, 2011 – Congratulations to Bigger Picture Group’s Jack Christopher and Liz Cost for completing the 2011 Country Music Marathon’s half-marathon route to raise money for worthy causes.
This was Christopher’s fifth Country Music Half Marathon, which he finished in under two hours. He ran for Team In Training to help raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. He’ll run again on May 15 in the Pittsburgh Marathon.
For Cost, this was a first-time marathon experience. She and a friend partnered up for a triumphant inaugural effort, finishing the race and raising more than $500 dollars for theMichael Stanley Child Life Endowment Fund. Prior to the race, Cost was invited to the charity’s annual fundraising event where she was asked to speak about why she chose to run for their foundation. Her participation in the event gave her the opportunities to encourage others to support the cause and to meet Michael Stanley, who has been in remission for five years.
In Cost’s recollection of race day memories, she greatly appreciated all the support from cheering bystanders, some sporting signs with encouraging messages such as “If Donald Trump can run, so can you!” “That was towards the end of the course, so it made me laugh and keep going,” said Cost. After the post-race water came the trip to the beer tent, where Cost says “all the pain started to go away.”
