JAKE OWEN JOINS KEITH URBAN TO THE ‘GET CLOSER 2011 WORLD TOUR’ U.S. LEG
SUMMER TOUR DEBUTS IN MISSISSIPPI ON JUNE 16
Grammy Award winner Keith Urban welcomes ACM Award-winning RCA Nashville recording artist Jake Owen as the first of the special guests announced to join Urban as he launches his “Get Closer 2011 World Tour,” beginning June 16th. Owen, who will perform on the U.S. leg of the tour, is a perfect fit, with his charismatic stage show and a string of top hits to his credit, including such favorites as “Don’t Think I Can’t Love You” and “Eight Second Ride.” Owen will appear throughout the U.S. run of the tour, concluding October 15th.
With the news, Owen said, “I’m honored to join Keith on his tour. Keith and his band are some of the greatest entertainers in the world, and I’m looking forward to getting out there and watching him play every night. This is going to be truly an amazing summer!!”
The “Get Closer 2011 World Tour” will debut in Biloxi, Mississippi with an all-new stage production featuring Urban’s uniquely hard-charging, captivating live performances. For ticket information, go to www.keithurban.net.
The tour comes in support of Urban’s sixth studio CD Get Closer, released in November. Get Closer follows two previous consecutive Billboard country and pop #1 albums, as well as five previous CDs, all of which have been certified platinum or multi-platinum.
Owen emerged as one of country’s hottest young talents with the release of his debut album, Startin’ with Me, and he’s built on that excitement with his latest album, Easy Does It, and a growing list of hits that includes five consecutive Top 15 singles. A past ACM winner as Top New Male Vocalist, Owen has earned CMA, CMT, and GRAMMY® award nominations while becoming a fan-favorite, touring with superstar artists and appearing on such programs as Good Morning America and CMT Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock. He is currently in the studio recording his third album, due for release later this year. Keep up with all the latest news on Jake at www.jakeowen.net.
