“Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D” Makes TV Debut on GAC Premieres Saturday, March 5 and Includes New, Updated Interview Footage
(NASHVILLE, TENN.) March 2, 2011 – When four time CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year Kenny Chesney released his 3D major motion picture in April of last year, he joined the Rolling Stones and U2 in an elite group of superstar recording artists that have successfully taken their massive live stage shows to the big screen. Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D makes its television broadcast debut this Saturday, March 5, 10:00 p.m./Eastern on Great American Country (GAC).
Shot over six nights in five cities – Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Seattle, Boston and Indianapolis – with 22 3D camera rigs, fans will get closer than ever before to the superstar known for his high energy, hit-laden concerts. For many Chesney fans the film will no doubt rev them up for Chesney’s current Goin’ Coastal 60 city, 11 stadium tour which is already showing signs of being yet another million ticket selling tour (making it his 9th).
Viewers will also be treated to brand new, exclusive interview footage as GAC sat down with Chesney last week while he was rehearsing his new tour. The always focused star talks about what motivated him to make a 3D movie and what the process involved.
“We had a blast making the ‘Summer in 3D film,” Chesney said. “I'm glad GAC is airing the special because I think it will be a great primer for our fans to watch before coming out to rock with us on this year's ‘Goin Coastal’ Tour."
