Kenny Chesney Tour Already At 500,000 Tickets Sold, New Single “Live a Little” Racing Up The Charts
NASHVILLE, TN – February 25, 2011 — Kenny Chesney's massive 2011 Corona Presents Kenny Chesney's 'Goin' Coastal' tour, with sellouts in stadiums like Foxboro's Gillette Stadium and Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field, has already eclipsed 500,000 tickets sold. The only artist in any genre to sell 1 million tickets for eight consecutive summers, Chesney is well on his way to another million-ticket summer with only 27 of nearly 60 shows currently on sale. The tour kicks off in West Palm Beach on March 17, with the first of Chesney’s 11 stadium dates two days later at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay on March 19. Corona Presents Kenny Chesney's 'Goin' Coastal' tour wraps up at a two-night Gillette Stadium blowout August 27 and 28.
On the radio front, "Live A Little," a song about taking a moment to enjoy life and the third single off Chesney's latest number one album 'Hemingway's Whiskey' (BNA Records), is shooting up the Billboard Hot Country Song chart again this week. As Chesney says, "I think 'Live A Little' defines me a lot. Everybody that knows me knows I'm a very focused guy, I keep my eye on the ball, I work really hard, and I'm hands on a lot of times to a fault. But you do at some point have to set it down no matter what you do, and I'm still learning that even now."
"This song will be in our show forever, it's going to be a staple. I'm going to keep reminding people through music that you've got to love life, and you've got to live it, and you can't work all the time. And the tempo and the edginess of this song reflects our show to a tee."
Following hits "The Boys of Fall" and "Somewhere With You" from 'Hemingway's Whiskey,' both of which topped Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart, "Live A Little" has already climbed into the top 30 of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and is the most added song at country radio for the second straight week. Chesney's 64 weeks atop the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart is the most of any artist this millennium.
